More model informationA hulk assemblage on the west bank of the River Torridge, near the port of Appledore on the north Devon coast. At least four timber vessels are represented, plus a small abandoned fibreglass boat. The largest hulk is that of the schooner M. A. James, built in the 1890’s. The other vessels are all mid-late 19th Century, identified on the Devon and Dartmoor HER by name, and are in the model annotations.
The schooner has been cleared of marine flora here by students prior to a recording exercise. Some of her port side planking can be seen collapsed in the mud, around the propshaft. Scene captured by UAV.
