This shipwreck is the second of two, located at Goodwick Sands, Pembrokeshire. It lies on a very flat, sandy foreshore, only the tops of some of the frames protrude through the sand. The site was identified from our existing aerial photos and confirmed as being a shipwreck in November 2021.
Although there is not much upstanding archaeology to record getting above the wreck does allow it to be fully comprehended and understood more clearly, when compared to standing at ground level. Being able to see the outline of the ship’s hull from above is really helpful.
The images used to create the model were recorded during a site visit on the 19th April 2022. The shipwreck is listed in the National Monuments Record of Wales (NPRN704003) https://coflein.gov.uk/en/site/704003
The work was undertaken as part of the CHERISH Project, to find out more visit our website:http://www.cherishproject.eu/en/
