More model informationThis is a large stoneware storage jar recovered from the wreck of the City of Launceston, which sank in 1865 in the middle of Port Phillip Bay.
Made of light brown natural clay body with base colouration and a medium light brown glaze applied to rim, neck and shoulder. Any identifying marks have been obscured by the oysters and barnacles so contents of the jar are unknown.
