Siebe Gorman 6 Bolt Diving Helmet 3D Model
Here is a 6 bolt Siebe Gorman copper diving helmet.
(6 bolt by the number of retaining nuts on the breast plate).
The helmet & breast plate are made from tinned copper, with gun-metal valves and other manufactured fittings.
Augustus Siebe was an accomplished engineer and innovator. Originally serving in the Prussian army. Moved to London in 1816. During 1830 he developed his first diving helmet, of which became a founding instrument of the company’s future. Throughout the 1800’s to his death in 1872, Siebe developed several different variants of the diving helmet.
Siebe Gorman helmets were at the forefront of diving engineering. And used up till the 1980’s commercially.
These helmets are now rare and not used commercially. Although they are a star attraction of any diving equipment collection.
This model here is a pointcloud, at a reduced size for online viewing. At 10% of the original pointcloud which was created by photogrammetry. The images were captured during a trade show in Aberdeen 2018.
