There were many flags that were seen in the Anglo Sikh Wars. This included the black Akali Nihang standard which has been on display at Lichfield Cathedral captured at the Battle of Ferozeshah. There were others including the tricolour French style introduced by the French generals in Maharaja Ranjit Singh?s army.
This 3D flag has been patterned on the crimson Silk battle standard. A triangular form with three seams, with central gilt solar motif on floral ground, wooden pole in three sections with steel spear head terminal and steel handle with two fluted bosses with brass fittings. One of these has been on display at Lichfield Cathedral captured at the Battle of Sobroan whilst a set was brought back to the UK by Lord Dalhouise and sold at auction.
