Simpson Obelisk3D Model
This obelisk serves as a grave marker for several members of the Simpson family: James F. Simpson (1833-1919), Grace Simpson Clancy (1896-1976), Eileen Clancy (1929-2011), Jerome Clancy (1932-?), Mary P. Simpson (1842-1870), and Clarissa Olive Simpson (1859-1860). James F. Simpson was originally from Maine, and became a merchant seaman at the age of 13. After distinguished service, and after having earned a French Croix du Guerre, he came to the Bay Area in the 1850s as part of the Gold Rush. In Santa Cruz he worked in the lime, feed supply, and lumber industries. With his first wife, Mary P., he had 3 children (incl. Clarissa Olive Simpson). He and his second wife, Adelaide, had another 3 children. Eileen and Jerome Clancy were siblings, and the children of Grace Simpson Clancy and her husband Roderick Clancy.
