More model informationIn order to understand how tumour cells colonize the lung (metastasis) and interact with immune system, tumour cells were injected intravenously into mice. One week after injection, lungs were analysed with spectral imaging of cleared tissue. These techniques allow to image several parameters while keeping tissue 3d architecture.
A single tumour cell (red, point 1) can be observed in blood vasculature (cd31/white).
Cyan : EpCAM/bronchial epithelium
Orange : CD68/macrophages
Purple : second harmonic generation imaging of fibrilar collagen
Green : Cx3cr1+ cells
