Sivré III, western niche (Ennedi, Chad) 3D Model
Model_20. Sivré III western segment (DStretch enhanced texture, CRGB colour space). A small niche densely covered by cattle figures and few humans, in the Tamada and Fada styles (recent and final bovine periods), located a short distance from the famed Sivré III shelter, home to the “Two Martians” (Bailloud 1960). A runner figure is following to the right the herd shown on the ceiling. The animal figures with small wattles painted on the left side resemble goats, but the long tails prove that they are cattle figures. Five human figures, including a woman in a long skirt, decorate the left side of the niche. The man at the composition centre brandishes a club ending in a bulb, a kind of weapon known from West Africa to Southern Africa (also known as “knobkerries”). To the extreme right, some stick figures including also a camel are present. Read more here.
