@paulmelis oh no. It would be nice if they provided some context. It's at least good for a "what's wrong with this skeleton" example in osteology/anthropology classes.
@terrielsimmons I actually did mail the museum, but did not get a reply :)
@paulmelis it's definitely a plastic adult skeleton and not articulated correctly. The 3D flow site has the model removed and the museum site doesn't seem to have any reference to it. Perhaps you could contact the museum and ask which site this burial is supposed to be from.
@paulmelis check other comments here, probably not the most accurate skeleton in the world, but I'm no expert in archeology
Do you know if the scale of the 3D model is accurate? Seems a bit small for a skeleton (1.2m from skull to "feet").
@paulmelis yep... I sadly dont have any more info than that...
You mean the link to 3dflow.net? I'm sorry, but there is nothing of value there. I also checked the website of Civic Museum of Rovereto, and again no information.
@paulmelis please follow the link in the model description for more info ;)
Nice model, do you have any more background on the burial site (location, period, etc.)? Also, what are the model units, and thus scale w.r.t. reality? The skeleton in the model appears to be around 1.25 units long, which seems a bit short when units are meters (unless this is a child).
@matousekfoto Definitely!
@terrielsimmons @vennem hehe, thanks, looks like I found an interesting dataset here :D good stuff for uni students for sure...
@vennem
yes this would be one of those I would use as a bonus question in a Forensic Anthro class: name all the things wrong with this burial.
@terrielsimmons Almost all of the bones are backwards and there appears to be a very unusually cut (transverse ) on the skull.
@matousekfoto that's true
@darkmermaids I fear most of us are not gonna be found in such an ordered nice state after thousands of years... :D
I'm seeing my inevitable future

unless post mortem
@terrielsimmons oh noes, that must have been a hell lot of pain...
Oh no the upside down pelvic bones and so many other misplaced bones!
