Skyphos (P1081)

Medium sized Skyphos, buff clay with brownish black and red paint. The interior is monochrome, and the exterior top zone has alternating red and black lotus bud drops between thin red-brown lines just below the lipless rim. Beneath that is a wide blackish-brown band, followed by a wide red band and then another blackish-brown band that extends over the top of the ring base. These bands are separated by reserve bands with thin red lines. The underside of the base has a wide red band underneath the raised ring, and in the middle section there is another faded red band along the edge and a large dot in the center. Mended from 12 pieces, conserved with plaster.
