More model informationA concreted mass of iron, brass, and copper artifacts found fused to the sea floor at the wreck site of the of the slave ship Peter Mowell in 2012. The American schooner was carrying 400 African people when it wrecked at Lynyard Cay, Abaco, Bahamas in July, 1860. The harsh underwater environment allowed only a few metal, stone, & glass artifacts from the ship to survive. Note the many brass tacks and other fasteners in this concretion.
