Small Aortic Dissection Human Heart Model3D Model
This is a fixed human heart that was donated for research. The donor was a 65 year-old female with a history of hypertension (high blood pressure) and type 2 diabetes. There is a small aortic dissection on the left side of the ascending aortic arch. These dissections occur when a “false lumen” is created next to the main vessel, and they fill with fluid. This heart was filled with shaving cream to dilate the chambers and treated with a light coating of 3D scanning spray. This donation uses reference number: 0697
We partner with LifeSource to receive donated organs deemed not viable for transplant.
