A decorated bronze socketed axe of the Yorkshire type, which is part of the Stoke Doyle Hoard dating to 1000-800 BCE, belongs to the Oundle Museum collection.

The socketed axe is covered with green patina. Its front side is well-preserved, with manufacturing traces and some wear visible to the naked eye. The back side of the object is mostly corroded. The three main components of the alloy that were used for the casting are copper, tin, and lead.
