More model informationSoutham Tithe Barn is a 7-bay tithe barn of raised base cruck construction with 2 tiers of curved windbraces.
Tree-ring dated timbers for the Cotswolds Hidden Cruck project have found the timbers felled in the Winter 1429/30 & Spring 1430, which places construction to 1430, or soon after.
This is a detail of a single apparently unaltered truss. All the other Trusses in the barn appear to have been altered, mainly by the addition of a second beam and other repairs to resolve structural movement.
