A large ceramic wall ornament that was painted with acrylic and has severely faded over the years in the scorching Arizona sunlight.

The back was extremely rough, and concave, which is dissadvantageous for 3D-printing, so I flattened it in Blender and 3D-modeled a simple nail positioner for hanging replicas.

I decided to scan this before repainting it, but in the future I’ll paint black lines in fine cervices to help my 3D-scanner capture those details with better tactile depth. I’ll probably re-scan this after I fully repaint it, just to see what difference the paint really makes; my scanner is finnicky about surface materials.
