The affectionately named “Space Turnip” is a large, cave dwelling creature that is not dissimilar to a plant. It can be found in caves of islands that are in the Borderworld of Xen. The creature is seccile, and most of the creature actually is hidden underground, giving it its name, the Space Turnip. The creature has been found to feed off of the corpses of creatures that die in the cave, and also geothermal energy feeding, which its methods of doing so are still unknown. The growth cycle of the space turnip is how it grows underground from seeds that often end up un animal droppings, such as houndeyes or headcrabs. The seed then grows underground, and then once its old enough, the brittle rock sbove it ruptures, allowing it to escape out. The space turnip then grows tentacles to wave around to attract creatures to feed off of it (as it needs to be eaten for the life cycle) or for the creatures to die to be fed off of.
