Der liegende Sphinx, der recht grob aus rotem Ton gearbeitet ist, misst ca. 7 x 2,5 x 4 cm. Das Objekt datiert in das Neue Reich (ca. 1550–1069 v. Chr.) und wurde vom Klassischen Archäologischen Institut übernommen. Der Sphinx ist ein typisches Hybridwesen mit menschlichen Kopf und Löwenkörper. Diese Ausbildung des Wesens – Menschenkopf mit Tierkörper – verweist auf die menschliche Präsenz im Göttlichen.
