So I’ve reached the end of my sixth portfolio class and thus the deadline for this model. I think I’ve changed everything that I wanted to at this point. The colors throughout the knife have been PBR color verified, and all of my textures are now procedurally generated. I also made the blade a lot less rough as my starting textures almost looked like tin foil or rock versus polished metal. My professional email is on the completed presentation image as well. The one thing that I did not get to is the checkered texture on the handle not matching up across those seams. The only way I saw to fix this and still keep it procedural was to edit the UVs and make the seams match up, but looking at that I really don’t want my seams anywhere else on the model but those four rounded corners either. Erasing the intersecting corners in Painter to paint the lines in for those areas instead seemed weird too because painting them in results in lower texture resolution than the rest of the texture.
