S.S.C. Leif Ericson

Straight out of an AMT Plastic Model Kit box. The SSC Leif Ericson was designed by the late Matt jefferies (of Star Trek fame) for a line of AMT plastic models in 1968. Only the Leif Ericson went into production. However the model was not that popular back then so it was pulled from AMT’s lineup. The kit was re-released as that god awful “glow in the dark” Interplanetary UFO. Which also failed just as fast as it started. Since then the Leif Ericson has become a cult favorite among sci-fi model builders. Round Two re-issued the model (of which i have 2 kits). You can still find her on Amazon, or Ebay. This design was also the base for the “INSS MacArthur” in the book Mote in Gods Eye. You can find more info about the Leif Ericson kit here.

The texturing is exactly how I painted my physical model. Minus the hull plating of course. The Markings are scanned directly from my kits decal sets.
