The Church of St. George in Goumenissa, a later type of an urban Post-Byzantine Basilica, was founded in 1864 and its construction was completed in 1911. The restoration project of the monument was co-funded by the European Union and the Greek Government under the Operational Program “Macedonia - Thrace 2007-2013”. A very detailed 3d model of the outside shell of the church, as well as orthophotomosaics of the sides of the building were produced through photogrammetric processing. The whole mapping procedure took place in March 2015, just after the completion of the main restoration works. The overall 3D accuracy obtained was < 1.5 cm, while the ortho resolution reached 3.75 mm.
The model published here is a downgraded version of the original, for the needs of the web (restricted upload size).
