Torlonia Collection at Louvre Paris until november11, 2024 This masterpiece is attributed to a workshop specialised in copy work, located near Baiae, Campania (Italy). Plaster copies that had been used to reproduce the originals were found in fragmentary form, attesting to a pronounced taste for statues from the early Classical Greek period (480-450 BC). The solemnly monumental original of ‘Hestia’ is known from this copy above all, the only remaining complete example.
