Steamer Krimulda was built in Blyth 1899. The former names of the ship were Somerford (1899), General Dragomirov (1910), Komissar (1918). From 1920 it was called Krimulda. 29.10.1940 Krimulda nationalized by USSR. On June 27, the evacuation of Russian troops from Latvia took place and the ship caravans set off in the direction of Estonia. Krimulda also joined the column of ships. On 1 July 1941, the steamer Krimulda hit a mine near Vormsi island in Estonia and sank. The lives of 5 men were lost. The wreck was documented within the EU project Military Heritage (Interreg Estonia-Latvia programme).
