“This monolith depicts an important official, standing, dressed in elaborate costume. In his left hand he is carrying a kind of war mace and in the right hand a manikin scepter. The scene is complemented by glyphs in the upper left-hand corner and at the bottom of the same side. The first of these seem to indicate 11 Ahau 17 Zac (because of the ‘day of difference’ commonly found in the inscriptions of Edzna), i.e. September 17, AD 726 (see Benavides, 1989: 21).”
