Stela A from Copan, an ancient Maya site in western Honduras. Stela A was erected by the 13th ruler named Uaxaklajuun Ub’aah K’awiil (also known as 18 Rabbit) during his reign, from January 2, 695 to May 3, 738. This stela proclaims that Copan ranked equally in power and importance with three other famous Maya sites: Tikal, Calakmul, and Palenque.
