Stone cannon shot from the wreck of the Spanish 1564 galleon Santa Clara. The ball is 9.9 centimeters diameter and weighs 1.211 kilograms. It is made from what appears to be dolomite. The sphere was shaped by hand, and hammered peck-marks are seen on the surface. Stone shot was meant to shatter on firing and blast an opponent with fragments. Light coral growth covers a portion of the shot, indicating it was partially exposed for a time while underwater.
