The owner of this building wanted a structural survey, for further expansion and renovation. The house has 200 m2 in total, including the basement. The walls are made of typical “masonry blocks”, and the roof is timber. ( not shown in the model ) The roof structure became deformated over the years, causing some issues during the survey process.
The basement has “Prussian-vaulting” and it had to be reinforced, for structural reasons, with beams below. The position must be perpendicular to the original “I-beams” embedded into the vaults. The first floor slab was designed to a reinforced-concrete, with rebars shown in the model.
Above the structural openings, a special beam was built as a lintel. It has a brick outer shell material, with a concrete core.
