More model informationStructure Fourteen - built around 3100BC - is the smallest example of piered architecture found to date. It is also the only Ness of Brodgar building to have been completely excavated.
The Ness of Brodgar is an archaeological excavation covering 2.5 hectares in the Heart of the Neolithic Orkney World Heritage Site, in Scotland. It has revealed a well-preserved and sophisticated complex of 5000-year-old stone buildings, unlike anything seen before in northern Europe.
Excavation on this scale is expensive: each season of digging and specialist analysis costs over £250,000. Please help support the project by donating to the Ness of Brodgar Trust!
