三浦一族の五輪塔　　Stupas of the Miura clan

この百余基の五輪塔は鎌倉市材木座の来迎寺本堂裏手にあり、三浦一族の墓とされている。鎌倉時代の三浦半島の衣笠城主であった三浦大介義明は、源頼朝旗揚げの時に畠山重忠の軍勢と闘い、八十九歳で戦死したとされている。その義明の菩提を弔うために建久五年（1194年）に頼朝が建立した真言宗能蔵寺があった。それを音阿上人が時宗に帰依し、建武二年（1335年）に改宗したのが来迎寺である。境内には三浦大介義明とともに十七歳の若さで命を落とした多々良三郎重春の墓とされる五輪塔がある。

These 100-odd stupas are located behind the main hall of Raiko-ji Temple in Zaimokuza, Kamakura City, and are said to be the graves of the Miura clan. Miura Daisuke Yoshiaki, lord of Kinugasa Castle on the Miura Peninsula during the Kamakura period, is said to have died in battle at the age of 89, fighting against the forces of Hatakeyama Shigetada when Minamoto no Yoritomo raised his flag. The Shingon sect Nouzo-ji Temple was built by Yoritomo in 1194 to pray for Yoshiaki’s soul. The priest On’a converted to the Ji sect and Raiko-ji Temple was established in 1335. In the temple ground, there are two stupas believed to be the grave of Tatara Saburo Shigeharu, who lost his life at the young age of 17 along with Miura Daisuke Yoshiaki.
