Small statuette of a sitting lion. Damage has resulted in the loss of much of the (originally brighlty painted) surface of the object, most significantly including the face.

Lions were associated with the Nubian god Apedemak, and many objects featuring lions were found at the site of the ancient city of Meroe, Sudan.
