More model informationClay plaque in the British Museum labelled as Lama the Sumerian Goddess of protection. She acts as an intermediary between people and the Gods. The figure has wings and bird talons for feet and wears a multi-horned hat, which is similar to the Old Babylonian terracotta plaque known as the “Queen of the Night” (or “Burney relief”). The Queen of the Night belongs to the Isin-Larsa or Old Babylonian period, circa 1800 BCE and is argued by scholars to be either a demoness, Ishtar, Ereshkigal or Lilitu.
