“Down, forward, punch! Down, backwards, kick!”. It doesn’t get much better than this. The Super Nintendo is truly one of the greatest consoles of all time. But leave aside all that fierce battle with the Genesis and focus on the fun itself. Just think how crazy it was back then when game systems came bundled with two controllers!

In those days, we didn’t insult our opponents’ moms when we had our butts kicked on those two-player split-screen games. But I think one of our fondest memories lies in what we held in our hands after school and made us feel a world warrior, an interplanetary racing contest champion, an Earth racing contest champion, and a plumber who rescues the princess.

The Super NES Game Pad is near-flawless and sure stands up to some battery. And with good reason, since 90’s games were so damn hard! The buttons layout and design were likely inspired by the Game Boy’s, with tilted Start and Select buttons and convex B and A buttons.
