More model informationThe 134 ft two masted brig-rigged ship Curtis Mann was built in New York in 1855. It was renamed Supply in 1861. In 1869 it was enroute from Detroit to Carp River with a load of 300,000 bricks when she broke in two during a gale and foundered off North Manitou Island. The woman steward died of exposure while the crew spent 2 days in the rigging until they were rescued by the crew of the schooner Southwest. Today just a 113 ft section of the bottom of the hull remains in shallow water partially buried in the sand of North Manitou Island. The model was created from 941 30-megapixel images shot by Andrew Goodman in the 2025 season.
