A tactical revolver on a stand. The model is set up with animation ready pivots and separate texture sets for the attachments.
I created the base mesh in Blender with the help of the Meshmachine and the Hopscutter tool sets. I used zBrush to apply the booleans, dynamesh, and polish. Smaller highpoly parts were made using traditional subD modeling. I used the earlier base mesh to also create my low poly by changing modifier values and editing boolean shapes before applying them. UVs were done in Blender with ZenUV and PackmasterPro.
Maps were baked in Marmoset Toolbag, and I textured the weapon using Substance Painter.
Branding removed to submit to the ECGC student art contest.
Special thanks to Tim Bergholz and Eugene Petrov for creating great learning resources. I combined elements of both the Chamferzone Revolver course and Eugene’s S&W XD course to make this asset. I learned a ton along the way. I’m excited to apply these skills to my next project and continue improving.
