Sheela-na-Gig3d was supported by the Heritage Council of Ireland The parish church of Taghboy has a sheela-na-gig carved in relief on the W face of a triangular stone (dims c. 0.2m x c. 0.2m) at the apex of its W gable. It was found at the church during conservation works. (Freitag 2004, 142) - Archaeology.ie
The carving has a large oval head which looks slightly to the north. Facial features include eyes, nose and mouth. The Sheela has an enlarged ear on the right hand side, compared with the left. The position of the eyes and larger ear, suggest she is looking north, or to the left. Both hands are over the legs which are bent at the knees. She has two well defined breasts, the left which sags lower than the right. She is spreading her vulva in a diamond shape, below this there appears to be distended or lowered testicles, although this may be a representation of urine.
