Tamil Inscription from Neusu, Aceh, Indonesia3D ModelNoAI
This inscription (MAHS-IDN-COL-001-O-0002) was discovered on December 3, 1990 at a village mosque in Neusu Village, Banda Aceh. In that context it was used as a stepping stone. It is now part of the collection of Aceh Museum.
This stone pillar that contains Tamil-language inscriptions on its two main faces. The text has been partially deciphered by Y. Subbarayalu (2009) as outlining trade guild regulations. It measures 173 x 40 x 20cm with18 rows of text on the front and 24 on the reverse. It has been dated paleographically to about the twelfth century.
