The concept art was provided by Cholong Lim for Polycount on their challenge ( https://polycount.com/discussion/217869/the-bi-monthly-environment-art-challenge-concept-thread-march-april-65 ).
Polycount: 22000 Triangles (could have been way less but some decisions regarding a second texturing pass for realistic textures and also actual functionality (looking through the scope) were made…)
Initially I thought of quickly creating a second texture set for the former stylized version but that ‘quickly’ turned into something longer. A lot of time went into a more or less proper baking process, creating a second lowpoly (baking only) and highpoly (more detailed).
Texturing: 3x4096 (Alb+Opa / Met+Smo / NOR), 1024 (EMI), 4096
Programs used: 3ds Max, Substance Painter, Photoshop
