I wanted to make a mammalian beast with scales. A lot of armadillo reference. I may have been a little thrifty with my geometry: think more structure can be afforded to organic forms like this. Lord knows they need it.

I am picturing vast herds of them cutting a swath across the prairie. Intimidating each other in mating season, and smaller predators, with their magnificent sets of keratin or bone horns and scutes.
