I wanted to compare some free popular options to generate photogrammetry scans with a phone. (One Plus 12, no Lidar)
App: captured in the app
Phone: using imported photos taken with the normal camera app (93 x 4K img)
I used the best settings possible in the free versions, but had to reduce all textures to 2K to fit the sketchfab upload limit. (In Kiri I also had to use the lowpoly version to reduce the size, in RealityCapture I just reduced it to a fitting polycount)
The polycounts and texture sizes vary a lot so it’s hard to make any comparision other than by eye.
Scaniverse - App: Polys: 66K (orig.), Texture: 2048x1024 (orig. 4096x2049)
Kiri - App: Polys: 6K (orig. 1.4M), Texture: 2K (orig. 4K)
Kiri - Phone: Polys: 12K (orig. 2.4M), Texture: 2K (orig. 4K)
Polycam - App: Polys: 116K (orig.), Texture: 2K (orig. 8K)
Polycam - Phone: Polys: 218K (orig.), Texture: 2K (orig. 8K)
RealityCapture - Phone: Polys: 465K (orig. 14M), Texture: 2K (orig. 16K+)
