Texture painted axe, first try

Hi there! This is my first post, as I am starting to go down the road of becoming a 3D artist.

So I enrolled in an online course from CG Cookie and this was my first task. I viewed some lessons before I’ve enrolled here, watching free lessons from Blender Guru Andrew Price so I know some things but wanted to expand my knowledge. In one of his videos he said that, if I wanted to make real progress, that I had to invest in paid lectures. And so I did. Thanks for the advice. :D

This is a model I had to texture paint as part of an exercise from the CG cookie lessons. I want some feedback on this piece, this is my first try at texture painting so please don’t be too harsh. :D
