In Scania, Sweden, lies the ancient skull of the Bäckaskog woman, nearly 9000 years old. Discovered in 1939 as “Fiskaren från Barum,” she was buried in a sitting, crouching position with a flint-edged bone arrow and a chisel-like tool. These artifacts’ purposes remain a mystery.
Project Details: - Client: Oscar Nilsson, Archeologist and Artist - Task: Convert Medical CT scan data to STL and 3D print the skull - Process: 1. Medical CT Scan Conversion: Converted the Medical CT scan data into an STL file, resizing and refining for accuracy. 2. 3D Printing: Printed the skull with careful calibration to capture intricate features. 3. Final Touches: Fine-tuned contours in the digital atelier, smoothing and finishing the model for realism.
