The abandoned Ahvenisto ski jump tower3D Model
Built in 1968, the Ahvenisto ski jump tower in Hämeenlinna, Finland, was in operation for three decades before humankinds relentless quest to ski jump farther and farther became its undoing. Since the last jumper used its slopes to slip the surly bonds of Earth in 1995, it’s been rotting away, occasionally shedding high velocity windowpanes onto unsuspecting joggers. To curb climbers, the landing slope was demolished in 2021, with the rest to follow as soon as the municipality stumbles upon the required 200 000 euros it’ll cost to knock this thing down. Just in case they do and one morning we wake up to a slightly lesser skyline, here’s a photoscan based on 1124 frames shot with a Mavic 3 Classic.
There’s enough artwork on the foot of the pillars that I’m just going to slap a Free Standard license on this. Credits will still be appreciated.
