Freeform Home design Challenge
If someone commits to the long-term financial and personal investment of buying a home, the fact that their life can change by various reasons means their house will need to also.
Instead of designing an architectural shell which our products and us inhabit, why not a simply a product which we inhabit? Our home could be interchangeable when our lives become more complex from personal, social and environmental effects - all produced in an environmental and economical way.
A skeletal branch-like structure is arranged to engage the environmental parameters of the site, creating an organic grid system in which components of the house can be applied. Three central walls define the modules of this single person house. From each wall, beams extend up and outwards, then intertwine to create an interlocking canopy overhead, maximizing the amount of natural sun let into the house while simultaneously capturing it for energy consumption.
