I was stuck in a bit of rut for the longest time, but then I happened to stumble accross Astrid Anna’s wonderful, whimsical work (https://www.instagram.com/p/CVA1TriMZpx/?hl=en). I’ve been trying to get into Substance Designer, so this initially just started off as project to try recreate her organic brushstrokes in the brickwall as a procedural pattern in designer, but once I had that done, I got a little bored of just looking at a cube with a texture on it, and it also felt like to really capture the feelings of Astrid Anna’s work, it’s not just a singular component of a picture but it’s the entirety of the details, the little scribbles on the chalkboard, that really gives that magical feeling. So then I got on board to just make this happen, I learned quite a lot about scrutinizing an image to really mimic the natural irregularity (but ironically enough, procedurally), so I could handpaint the few things where I felt the emphasis needed to be. I used the inverted solidify here, but grease pencil in Blender
