The diving boat

This boat was just about to dive from the edge of this lock into the river Loire when it realized that it might not be reasonable to do so, since it was low tide and there was no water left.....

I discovered this “thing” when I was flying back from an assignment in St Nazaire. I couldn’t believe my eyes and shot the 3D scene, quick and dirty, wondering what this “soft boat” could be doing there !

Back home, I discovered it’s in fact it an artwork called “Misconceivable” by Austrian artist Erwin Wurm. It was installed on the edge of this lock in 2007 during the contemporary art exhibition “Estuaire” that took place in 2007.
