The Diwan, a reception chamber in the northwest corner of the Audience Hall, hosted special guests amidst lavish mosaic and stucco decorations. Mosaic floors and benches featured intricate geometric and floral designs. The upper platform showed a symbolic Tree of Life, with fruit like apples or citrus. Below, a scene depicted a lion attacking a gazelle on one side, while two other gazelles grazed peacefully, possibly symbolizing good and evil or peace and war.
