The Duellers’ Shelter, central sector of the ceiling (processed by DStretch_YRD). The central part of the composition shows two groups of warriors, variously armed. Some are standing, and some are moving towards a line of engagement, convex to the left. The right group of warriors is smashing through the rival group to the left. Body decorations of the portrayed men are various and sometimes very sophisticate. They may include patterns of crossed angled lines, nested chevrons and rhomboids. Men wear a loincloth, which lower edge covers the pelvis obliquely, leaving one thigh uncovered. Seven runners, followed in their movement to the left by two other outdistanced runners, stand out within the central-right sector of the panel. The warriors brandishing spear and shields or shown in combat readiness are undoubtedly the most impressive figures in the shelter. Shields come in oval shape or shaped like two lobes. A geometric motifs resembling a maze is present on the right side of the panel.
