The SCAR (short for Special Operations Forces Combat Assault Rifle) is a modular rifle platform manufactured by FN Herstal. It comes in two variants: the FN SCAR-L (SCAR 16, Mk 16), which is chambered in 5.56×45mm NATO; the FN SCAR-H (SCAR 17, Mk 17), which is chambered in 7.62×51mm NATO.
