So, we’ve had some more spammers over on Thingiverse (it’s like there’s a con going on… ;P ). This time it’s the small development team of an Operating System (Ubuntu-based) that’s supposed to be geared towards makers and designers… by which they mean it comes prepackaged with a lot of other applications that you can get yourself without having to throw out your existing operating system. Believe it or not, I’m making their OS sound more robust and capable than it actually is. Even by their own admission, “You’re probably running (WHO CARES)os right now; just a more stable version ;)” I’m not kidding. that’s their real response to a point of criticism against their meager offerings. Speaking of offerings, they actually need your help (can you believe it?) by offering them money through a Patreon campaign, which will fund development. Meanwhile, they’re looking for volunteers to take on free 3D printing assignments for their loyal users.

So, yeah, calling it a scam would be a compliment.
