This is the final texture project design of a game asset. The object model that has been referenced is the QFX Shoebox Tape Recorder. I like the style of vintage objects and decided to practice modeling by using them as my inspiration. Here I have attempted to create a game resolution version of a high-res modeled version of a Tape Cassette Player created in Maya. Using substance painter I have baked the details onto the game version and painted it in substance painter as well into what you see above. I want the story element to match the vintage style of the glorious time of Tape Recorders when they were greatly popular. I wanted to add tear and wear to indicate it’s many uses and yet keep a look that it’s still functional and can be used by it’s owner or a detetive who found this lost cassette-player. Unlike the last model I made this one more dirty and had the yellow tape seem more ominous for the player to feel wary about using.
