Based at Braywick Nature Centre, the Royal Borough’s Countryside Service promotes awareness of the natural environment through our programme of events, walks and talks, and providing education sessions and advice to schools and other groups.
The Nature Centre is situated in an old stable block, originally part of the estate belonging to Braywick Lodge.
This 19th century mansion house was demolished in 1969, however the stables were refurbished in 1989 to provide a centre for environmental activities in the Borough.
The Nature Centre houses displays and exhibitions on wildlife, countryside management, sustainability and local history; it also has a classroom for use by schools and their groups.
